Qualified in 1974 the degree BChD (cum laude) at the University of Pretoria. Awarded the Bronze Medal for best student in Conservative Dentistry, the P.Grant Smith Gold Medal for best student in Oral Medicine and the Van Riebeeck Gold Medal for best general student of the faculty.

Lectured and demonstrated minor oral surgery to 4th and 5th year students for 2 years at the Maxilla Facial Surgery Unit of Pretoria before entering private practice in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape.

Awarded and honorary BChD (honours) degree for inventing the Vivopak emergency treatment kit for doctors and dentists. Patented in 12 overseas companies.

From 1979 to 1983 specialised in Maxillo-, Facial- and Oral surgery at the University of Pretoria obtaining MChD (MFOS) cum laude with distinctions in Anatomy and Physiology.

In private practice in Pretoria from 1984 with special interests in traumatology, reconstructive maxillofacial surgery and implantology.

Several publications in Bicon implantology and accredited lecturer at Boston Faulkner University.

During the years developed interest in immunology and heavy metal detoxification. Was offered a 5 year Professorator at the University of Kentucky, USA. Regretfully refused. Member of the IAOMT (International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) and the IABDM (International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine).

Moved to 'retirement' practice in Plettenberg Bay in 2008. Giving courses in implanvology in Cape Town, Pretoria, Namibia, etc. Have branch practices in Oudtshoorn, Humansdorp and Jeffreys Bay. Stopped practicing in Port Alfred in 2021.

Presently acting as MFOS consultant at George Provincial Hospital and operating (under charess) every Monday.
